To participate, I needed to choose a row that I found interesting from a 'crafty grid' ( pun intended) and make a 6x6 card with it.<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The row that appealed to me the most was the diagonal one with Charms, Pearls, Ribbons and Diecuts.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I thought that this row would give me lots of room to play around with my choice of colors and my favorite charms. I hope that I have followed all the rules of the competition..</div>
<div>
I absolutely adore the clock die by Marianne Designs and was looking for a reason to use it again! I have used various dies for the foliage and butterfly.The pearls have been used as flower centers and on the clock.</div>
<div>
And the sentiments are handwritten and not stamped :)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I loved how my 6x6 easel card turned out and I hope you appreciate it as well! </div>

The first combination that came to mind was Black with White..that is my absolute favorite.However I decided to use some of my other fav colors: shades of Purple and shades of Orange. Another deciding factor in the selection of lilac as as base colour for my card was the lovely Lilac glitter embossing powder which is a new addition to my stash :).<br />

Here is what I made for a recently concluded card swap- a tag easel card.When we were asked to make cards with different folds, my first thought was to make this one.I had seen it a long time ago and had wanted to try it out.It also gave me the perfect opportunity to use my new spellbinder die - marvellous squares.I just love the concept of having a tag which goes with the card .</div>

I came across a stamp (Do not know which company ) and no I do not have it either :( I fell in love with the design and decided to quill it.The next best thing to having the stamp .I was happy with the way it turned out......<br />

<br />
I enjoy working with the festive colors a lot ,the reds ,greens and the golds go so well together.I especially liked these two cards as I have used the positive and negative of the Birdhouse die.Its a Marianne design Birdhouse.I rediscoved the birdhouse in my stash and fell in love with it all over again so thought that it was time to use it .The negative was so pretty that I couldn't bring myself to throw it ,so made two identical cards.<br />
Here goes<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The symbol (pronounced AUM or OM) is a Hindu religious symbol, In all Hindu art and all over India 'om' can be seen virtually everywhere, a common sign for Hinduism and its philosophy and theology. <br />
<br />
I have seen the symbol being used before the start of something auspicious ,by my family and friends .<br />
<br />
I really enjoyed making it and it was challenging as I had to complete it very fast !<br />

I have been eyeing the memory box dies for a longtime now .They have the most amazing dies !!So when our own Shaikha from Fantasy hobbies got them ,I ordered a few of them as fast as I could...LOL And Shaikha is so very prompt that I got the dies in just 2 days ...Just in time, as I had to submit my DT posts .<br />
<br />
This month's kit from Lil Bee's"Victorian Summer Kit" is full of interesting paper ,bling ,embellishmnets etc...Had a lovely time playing around with it .<br />
<br />
My first submission : using the bling and memory box die :) <br />

This second one I made for a very dear friend who is unwell .The minute I saw the paper ,I knew this is what I wanted..Well I enjoyed playing around with my kit ,hope you all like it too.<br />

I found this purse template a while ago, and had forgotten all about it, but when I saw the bright beautiful papers from Lawn Fawn I knew it was time to try out the template. I also happened to have the quilled flower ready in my stash to be used. It would make a lovely money purse for a little girl or a nice way to send party invite and there are a million other ways in which this adorable template could be used :)<br />

My all-time favourite combination is black and white .(I have a closetful of clothes which attest to this ) .Recently when talking to a friend ,I was trying to impress upon her that a pictue can look very dramatic done in just black and white (Though mine does have red too) and need not have too many colours thrown in.<br />
I thought I would upload these pictures just to emphasize my point .They were done a while ago ,but I have remade two of the pictures since ,on request .The first set are all with a very dear friend.<br />
The red roses in all of the pictures have been made using the 1/16th paper (1.5 mm ) .Even though the 1/16th papers are tough to work with ,I enjoy working with them and love the delicate look they lend to a picture.<br />

I cannot post these pictures and not mention Ty Wilson.I discovered his work quite by accident and fell in love instantly .I like the neat clean lines depicted in his pictures and they look beautiful quilled.Can't wait to work on another set of his pictures....</div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08998593273356708461noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2791888652209126606.post-675183702439062232012-04-18T19:13:00.001+04:002012-04-18T19:13:32.297+04:00A new card, a new day,sadly still no witty title ...<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">

I have already mentioned in my last post how much I loved the papers from Lil bee's kit for this month.The minute I saw the lovely roses ,I knew I had to use it .This is what I came up with .My fascination with Bows continues.Peach and cream is already a wonderful combination,we all know that, add apple green to it and we have a combination made in heaven.<br />
I thoroughly enjoyed making this card and hope you all love it too.<br />

This months kit from Lil'l bee's was amazing.As soon as I got it ,my mind was buzzing with ideas as to how I could use it.Some of the papers were colours that I rarely use .<br />
This is my first presentation for this month:<br />
This card is for all those wonderful mothers ......there is no one like MOM .My new discovery --- stickles and glossy accents.I try to find excuses to use them !!The stickles that I have used on the lettering is amazingly easy to use and enhances the overall look.I have coated the flower with Glossy accents.Gives it a nice finish and its acid free too , so no problems there . I am proud of my little bow .Its the first halfway decent bow that I have managed to make .You will be seeing more of bows ,stickles and glossy accents from me in the future ,guess I can safely say I am in love ...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<br />
The Quilled flower is from Alli Bartkowski's new book.Its filled with lovely ideas.<br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
The term Summer Holidays sure conjures up lazy days spent in the sun doing nothing in particular. That was then ....Now, however , its something else..need to think of things to keep my daughter busy or rather away from the computer ..Fortunately this year the weather in Dubai has been fantastic till now so am planning to make full use of it and spend as long as posible outdoors .<br />
<br />
What with the exams, I couldn't craft much .so I was in a hurry to quill something....<br />
Came up with these 2 cards in about an hour.Have been splurging on Martha Stewart punches...doesn't she have the most amazing designs ???This one however I borrowed from a Friend.....(Thanks Shabala )... ostensibly to check it out.So when checking it out ,I had punched out a few cards .<br />
<br />
The punch is absolutely lovely and is complete by itself and doesn't need much by way of embelishments.....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Have to add that the distressing on the pink card looks much better in real than in the picture <br />

I've decide to upload some more pictures, now that my blog is up and running ! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JWtJAMV7Ytg/Ty_tiPjN9EI/AAAAAAAAABg/AUURrjwJvf8/s1600/PB100172.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" sda="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JWtJAMV7Ytg/Ty_tiPjN9EI/AAAAAAAAABg/AUURrjwJvf8/s320/PB100172.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
A combination of punch craft and quilling , i thought it gave quite a wonderful final effect ...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Rtj2JKRIvgI/Ty_tpxHaL3I/AAAAAAAAABo/QfTEaSstPkQ/s1600/P7160147.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" sda="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Rtj2JKRIvgI/Ty_tpxHaL3I/AAAAAAAAABo/QfTEaSstPkQ/s320/P7160147.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>

Crafting has been my passion as long as I remember.Initially it was embroidery and petit point.I would sit for hours working on whatever design caught my fancy.<br />
I chanced upon quilling nearly 8 years ago and I was hooked !!I have been quilling ever since.<br />
Will share my work with you all in the future.Looking forward to making new friends</div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08998593273356708461noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2791888652209126606.post-75598895547189600922012-01-31T15:02:00.000+04:002012-01-31T15:02:16.467+04:00Some cards from my collection -<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-F4mJBeOYOJw/TyfJ9CuxeSI/AAAAAAAAABQ/JV8LgjU6_2I/s1600/P4170416.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" sda="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-F4mJBeOYOJw/TyfJ9CuxeSI/AAAAAAAAABQ/JV8LgjU6_2I/s320/P4170416.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
